Major J Suresh Suri along with another soldier laid down his life last month in a counter insurgency operations in Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir. He being a counter insurgency instructor led his team from the front and became a martyr. When his body was flown to his native place Hyderabad in a coffin draped in the tricolor thousands of people with moist eyes paid their last tribute to our real hero. My condolences are with the bereaved family, may god be with them in this hour of crisis and hope they come out of these difficult times soon.

Kashmir has been the epicenter of major disturbances in the country since late eighties in form of terrorists attack and cross border infiltrations, since then we have lost hundreds of our brave soldiers. Their commitment, valor and heroism make us feel that our country is in safe hands though the price paid is too high. How many more such tragic events are in store for future, are they going to lead us to peaceful Kashmir? Such questions often haunt us like bad dreams whenever we come across such heartbreaking and sad news, the poignant farewell further fills us with exasperation towards our system against meek and passive response of Government to the problems of terrorism. Do we not have military and armed forces in place to tackle such situations? Why do we always have to wait and respond to terrorist activities, can’t we bomb their Camps and take things in our control as the Israelis do? Whenever such problems occurs we bend our knees against international communities, Was 26/11 in Mumbai not an eye opener? Plethora of such questions disturbs us and makes us feel how fragile and flimsy our system is. In the backdrop of such activities terrorist try to weaken the morale and spirits of our soldiers, had it not been the undefeatable attitude of our soldier’s things would have been worse.

Recent comments from our honorable Home Minister and External affairs Minister is deplorable, it’s like they have mugged this cliché “Pakistan is not doing enough, they need to take some genuine steps and put the perpetrators behind bars”, it won’t be erroneous to think that every morning when they get up they ask their secretaries “Do I have to repeat the same words or need to add new few heavy words just to appease our countrymen” .This further gives rise to intellectual studio debates with defense analysts and strategists who ponder over lackadaisical attitude and futile attempt of the Pakistanis authorities. Pakistanis too come up with same hackneyed phrase “we too are the victims of the same terrorism”, well, you have created this Frankenstein monster that now is ready to devour its own master so be it face it, why should we bother what is going at your end, in fact precedents are such that there is not even iota of trust left.

We Indians don’t value life, busy in our daily routines we don’t give heed to such news and facts, a news about Rakhi’s Swayamwar Part-2 would please more to our eyes and ears .In Israel and America the whole country mourns the loss of their soldiers, another statement from our National Security Advisor who he still sleeps in fear of repetition of 26/11 was appalling, is this attitude of our National Security advisor? , What messages does it give to our people? You should be ashamed of your words and come up with real solutions instead and show some spine. If one thoughtfully looks into these long pending issues one would find that they are very complex and hard to solve but that doesn’t stop us from being active, Pakistan too is aware of our military might but also knows at the same time that we are irresolute and would always look for a peaceful and amicable solutions. I personally believe that this wishy-washy attitude is going to cost dearly in future, let’s not test the patience of our soldiers. We need to stand by them and say that the whole Indian fraternity is with you, please make us feel our strength once in for all instead of this Cat and Mouse game which we witness almost daily. Even we dread war, but you have not left us with any other solution.

Every second day newspapers are flooded with news that ISI Agency of Pakistan is ready with new machination be it in form of infusion of billions of rupees through fake Currencies, state sponsored cross –border terrorism or some other means to weaken the internal security of the country. Why is that we always make counter attempts to solve the problems created by them, can’t we create the same instability there with the same weapons not in form of war but other forms like weakening their economies through decrease of inter –country economic cooperation’s, stopping the water of the rivers, stern actions against the people involved in such activities instead of rehabilitating them and appeasing them by setting magnanimous standards.  The point is that all the methods have been tested with negative consequences it is time to start something new, am sure we don’t have any dearth of ideas and methods , we need to be proactive and visionary with need to produce new models of governance  for handling such problems. After 9/11 America is in state of constant war with terrorists but see not a single sutli (Diwali crackers) bomb have been exploded forget about some major attacks. We have a long border with major problems from   our neighboring countries so just to have a strong force, extra centers for National Security Guards is not enough; other methods to weaken their mechanisms and process needs to explored and tried. War is not always fought on battlegrounds, today we live in era of technology and our superiority in these areas can certainly have some good solutions, why not bomb the Karachi Stock exchange with same fake data to cripple their economy and system or may be on a more practical note start some major covert operations against enemies by our so called dormant RAW. Let’s do some real research along with analysis.

It’s time now, we need 91(liberalization) in our attitudes and responses and give up the docile and submissive ways of handling our problems. We need to respect our people who toil and strive at high altitudes just to make sure we can sleep peacefully and enjoy our daily lives. We have had lot of debates and discussions it is time for some real action now.

War is never the sloution

War is not the solution and the only option left with us.

The example of Israel which you have referred is totally different because one country is nuclear capable and Palastine is not. Same is the case of US attack in Iraq or Afghanisthan. But, this is not the case with Pakistan and India where both are nuclear capable. In case of any war China will heavily and stealthly support Pakistan to destabilise India.

But other solutions like increasing pressure through international community are good options but give bank on the HOPE factor too much.

Yes, being silent and just talking on hard terms (esp to a errant neighbour) paints our image as weak and the perpetrators are engouraged for the same acts.

New Technology seems only logical approach to save our future but it requires a great initiative and will power from the political side to draw these initiatives.

As ususal we the public have to resort these two options:

"Lets pray and hope."

"Lets wait and watch."

I agree war certainly not a solution but sheer lack of political will has made things really difficult..we Indians are too docile and tolerant...As i said war is not fought only on battle fields but today it has a different meaning too...hope someday we will empathise with the bereaved family of the soldiers who are losing their lives every now and then...public in India only hopes but to our dismay that hasn't solved even a single problem so far.
