When i started watching Australian Open..it was a no-brainer, guessing the winner. because it was a given..though Murray tried his best  though it was his fault  that let Federer won the game. But ..i very much wanted Murray to win ..just to see a different winner..all for a refreshing change! Stiff competition brings out the best talent. Ofcourse..Federer is the BEST..but still seeing him win match after match..is boring.

The above one is one kind of monopoly..through real talent and hardwork. this is acceptable and highly appreciable.

But there are other kinds of unhealthy monopolies which we should avoid at any cost!

Change is the only constant in this universe. With more changes, comes evolution. That's the general theory.

How far this theory is relevant in our Indian scenario?

Actual happenings in real seems entirely different.

Take our POLITICS...

We are proudly marching towards the completion of 63rd year of our independence...and how many worthy young politicians..if not leaders, India have?

Not even a handful!

Why India plunged into this shockingly sorry state ?

6 decades of monopolistic politics is the reason.

Congress and BJP are the only 2 parties we have at the national level!  Any other parties are like pickle or jam to add spice to either one of these 2 bandwagons they attach themselves to! Yes..In India, we have communists too and let's leave it at that!

Congress - This political party is like a national museum. All it's glory is always taken from it's Gandhian and Nehruvian era..so as to sell the party in other words to cheat people into buying it's current leaders, a worthless bunch of museum pieces! This party's history is phenomenal..but after Gandhi, all it's leaders indulged in dynastic politics and shamelessly thrust their worthless heirs-turned-politicians down our throats! Ofcourse..only a few felt disgusted by this ..the rest went along with a sickening attitude of slavery! India became a playground for these holier-than-God Congress and it's heir-throne. After the end of Nehru's long political career, his apparent heir throne Indira came to power..then it was her son..and again it is her daughter inlaw.. with it's Prince all ready to take charge of the throne..what next..i wonder?

The few years , Congress was forced to spent away from it's throne, this country went through a lot of healthy changes. After all , one cant hide truth from history all the time! But again Congress' monopoly started. It spell doom for a healthy democracy. but no one cared..

Afterall.. India is keen on preserving Democracy..NOT in practising it!

Why monopoly in politics spell doom? because in politics..monopoly speaks of bribery and corruption and nothing else!

But..no one can monopolise people unless they too are willing. Still..monopolising people is easy through bribery and corruption. In this poverty-ridden country, bribing people is a piece of cake for these political sharks!

Well..in monopolicing this country for more than 6 decades and playing with people's poverty and their basic needs..what is Congress' positive contribution to this beloved country?

Considering the 6 long decades they had, to achieve something, to be honest and blunt, it achieved nothing notable!

In 62 long years, we are still developing! Hunger deaths are still here. our awesome economic growth is not wholesome. It leaves the poor where they are..as they are..!Most of our politicans have criminal records!Their seudo-secular policy
only helps in bringing the Hindu-Muslim animosity more to the front! Inaction seems to be the modus operandi of Congress!

Sensing trouble? ignore the issue for as long as it takes to fizzle out is their policy. Leaving the burning issue unsorted keeps it burning  for longer period, be it religious or social.

Long years of monopoly helped Congress to take India under it's control..with it's powerful octopus hands grabbing everything and everyhwere..from electronic media to print media, from top business powerhouses to multi millionaires, we can see it's vicious clutches everywhere! The opposite parties spend all their time in just keeping alive.

State politics are not far behind! In tamil nadu..there is this oldman Called Karunanidhi. 85 years old, and still shamelessly occupying the chief minister office. He finds it hard even to walk a few steps..but he is our CM! monopoly at its'worst! [should i say 'best'?]. His long years of monopolising the state politics only helped in
bringing the entire state under his control..now he has the proud tag as Asia's 6th wealthiest person with his numerous wives and his endless heirs! Now this family has monopolised all the powerful mediums like cinema, print media and electronic media, real estate, ship building and what not. Whatever they deign to say is gospel!

Another unpardonable monopoly is in business arena. Our Ambani brothers..they are into everything  from Needles to oil, from onion to suitings and movie theatres to hi-tech production houses!

This is alarming..and every conscientious citizen should get concerned abt this...but the bitter truth is when we allow monopoly in the top powerhouse, that is politics, it tends to spread to other areas also. it's unavoidable.

Poor getting poorer and rich getting richer! Fruits of monopoly!

Even in the so called bollywood and other south indian tolly wood, lolly wooods...

For decades after decades after decades...for generations after generations..we get to see only one person act as hero supremo! watching Rajnikanth or Mamooty or Amitab as hero was ok when they were in their 20s. but after a considerable 40-50 years we are still made to see them in movies as heroes! what kind of monopoly is this? dont we have anyother talented actors?  A mother's much fantasised hero in her younger days is her daughter's hero too cz of lack of coice?

Highly ridiculous and pathetic !

High time we dump all these oldies..however talented. watching the same khans, Bachans os boring and tiresome. High time visual media and all bolly.. lolly.. tolly woods concentrate on offering palatable and interesting and NEW stuff!!

In sports..take Cricket. After dumping all those troublesome, tiresome oldies, the team revived from it's lethargy, kickstarted it's upswinging march!

Now by removing that monopoly, we have a talented, reliable , healthy team we can be proud of!

Monopoly means stagnance. monopoly means imminent danger. monopoly means nil growth..lack of evolution.

America doesnt allow monopoly in any field.

But here in India..our peculiar kind of democracy with it's excessive freedom paves way for monopoly for the moneyed class with political backing!

Is this what the so called, much touted 'Democracy' is? ..i wonder..

We are in the process of thwarting monopolies as far as brands are concerned. A Fiat or an Ambassador is an anachronism today and so is a Bajaj Chetak. Power is with the people to dislodge monopolistic rule as well and we need an impetus to exercise the same. As usual forcefully said Umbs!!

@ Santosh Thanks for ur input. As always it's an honor to have urs.

Well..Middle class with it's new found obsession with consumerism and poor class with it's killing poverty, both unknowingly welcome the unhealthy monopolistic greed of the moneyed class ! If they don't wake up soon...

Really a Sharp and Excellent write up.Politicians are cross section of the people . When an undue and external force is used to gain or to maintain some thing is called "Monopoly ". Political victory in India can not be pictured as the sign of monopoly because it is decided by the people. Then about India's developments..We have to consider from what state we started ,What we inherited as legacy , the challenges we had faced and now facing including the population increase and finally the attitude of an average Indian .If we consider all these factors, in my view ,we have developed much when compared to any other nation. You are true we have to go ahead much and also have to improve the quality of our democracy to a greater extend . No doubt.
