Part-2: The Battle Royal {This is one of the utter bullshits from the key pads of a huge non-sense. So please DON’T READ this. But if you had made the mistake of reading the previous part and still want to torture your cell then you can proceed further.} Recently all the powerful were involved in a brawl. The Lion1 and the tiger faction represented by the old lord were as usual supporting each other against the combined force of the elephants and the lion2. Though the animals were apprehensive about the cub but nobody actually thought he could make any major difference. But proving everybody wrong the cub made huge upsets. His ire was directed not against the lions or elephants but against his own clan and made his own kinsmen bite the dust against the fight with other powerful animals. The jungle had a peculiar rule. The powerful were the rulers of the jungle but they were selected by the so called weak Deer and the Rabbits. So in the battle royal the Deer and the Rabbit were the sufferers as usual. And their trepidations were really heart shattering. However without going into the details of how many drops of blood smear wetted the ground, one can safely conclude the battle was very gory to the extent that there were total hara-kiri among the powerful class and total exploitation of the not-so-important poor fellows. The result of the battle was, though not totally unexpected was still a bit surprising. The strong hold of the old tiger was completely devastated mainly because of the double cross by the cub and his followers. And in this in fight the winners were the elephants and Lion2. No point in guessing that the losers were still the Deer and the Rabbit. After the battle there was a tradition in the Jungle that the warriors moved to a conference hall and did chit chat for five years. Though it was no more than any kind of friendly chit chat, the conference hall had certain rules. Firstly, physical fighting which might include gnawaing, biting, pawing or kicking was not allowed though the warriors could resort to any sort of verbal violence. Secondly, the warriors had to take an oath that they would maintain the decorum of the conference hall and the jungle itself though it was never minutely specified what the decorum of the jungle or the hall meant. As per the tradition each animal could take the oath in any tongue they liked; for example lions could use their own dialect, tigers their own and small time players like bison, rhino and bear could use their own language. But the cub and his clan demanded that all the warriors had to take the oath on a language that the cub and his supporters favored, This created a lot of unrest among many animals especially one Rhino warlord. He refused to use the Cub’s tongue and the followers of the later actually attacked the Rhino physically against the rule of the conference hall. Situation became so dangerous a handful of Cub’s followers were thrown out of the hall for four years. Such an incident was the first in the history of the jungle and created a great deal of tension. Coupled to this was the confusion between the elephants and the Lions2 who were the winners in the battle royal regarding the allotment of hunting ground. So the drama actually continued even after the battle was over and continued for a long time. To Be continued… The jungle book saga continues further to torment your soul.
