We had been desperately waiting for the rains and the last few days the clouds seem to pour heavenly bliss on us… school kids were celebrating rainy days even I had a desire to celebrate a rainy day… if not a day I could celebrate a rainy morning at least… well, I decided to stay on my bed for long in the morning… I wanted to listen to talk to myself and I wanted to find a few answers… it is not possible to sit quietly and talk to yourself everyday but today seemed to be a promising morning… well, before I could start a question- answer round with myself, there was something grave going on in my mind… the positive me and the negative me had picked up an argument and none would wish to lose. Both wished to over power each other… I was perplexed and forgot about the worries; I wished to ponder upon and could do nothing but to listen to their heated conversation…

 

Negative- One keeps making mistakes in life and the by the end the mistakes build up so much that we stand as failures… they trusted the wrong person and get into trouble..

 

Positive – (with a soft but confident tone) you are wrong dost! There’s nothing in life that is called a ‘mistake’, they are all lessons. Even a person’s failure to judge another person properly is a lesson and this would make the person smarter for the rest of her life…

 

Negative – (a tone with a touch of anger) seems you have a certain grudge against me and that is reason you wish to go against me each time I say something…

 

Positive – (nonchalantly) There is no such feeling man! I just wish to let you know that your thinking and my thinking are poles apart and I feel you walk on the path that converts even grass into thorns

 

Negative- (with a bold note) No I don’t; I walk on reality and you tread on a cloud that never exists…

 

Positive – (in a thoughtful note) you make life a struggle… Have you ever realized how gloomy you make a person’s life…??? You just look at the darker side and force your pessimistic conclusions upon a person.

 

Negative – (smiling) Are you talking about struggle..? Struggle is what makes life difficult… One keeps struggling and constantly burns her fingers but either gets nothing out of it or achieves much less than desired… my friend Pos!, you have no reason to argue with me, when I say life is difficult I really mean it…

 

Positive – (grave but sarcastic) Huh! What is struggle..? Neg!, I have the power to convert struggle into strength. I am a healing system for any aching wound. I don’t give a prescription; I give the medicine for the pain. Those that take the regular dose of medicine recover and those who don’t, die an unwanted death… I mean, those who comprehend my lesson recover from their problems and those who don’t are your slaves…

 

Negative – (with pride) So you finally believe that I am the master of the minds … and the minds are my slaves…

 

Positive –  (with a sarcastic smile) No you are wrong here…

 

Negative- Hey! Hey! Don’t try to change your statements buddy! When bad comes, I arrive and stay on till it gets worse…

 

Positive – Yeah! You said it!! You come to make things worse and I come to show brighter light, I come with a ray of hope and bestow courage and ability to find good from the bad.

 

Negative- (with a sarcastic look) Good out of bad…!! You optimistic moron; you can’t imagine my persistent strength. I won’t let the mind even have a glimpse of the good. I over power everything and hover around the mind until the mind becomes stagnant and it stops working.

 

Positive- (with a confident satire) I think you possess great confidence, I must admit, but then it is too close to over-confidence. You rest superficially; when the wind is strong you are blown away.

 

 

Negative- So you mean to say I cover you…?

 

Positive- (speaks as a winner) Yes, you do cover me but only for a while… when I kill you I shine like the king of kings.

 

Negative- (not ready to accept defeat, trying to think of another argument) Okay! Let me tell you something…

 

Positive- Sure, go ahead…

 

Negative- (with an irritated tone) you have this bad habit of cutting me short…

 

Positive- (coolly) Sorry, carry on buddy…

 

Negative- I analyze things and consider the pros and cons and find out what bad can hit and I am proficient in measuring the extent of damages in advance. I let the person know about things in advance and stop the person from taking a step that might harm him in the future.

 

Positive- Analyze… things… huh! Why don’t you say that you don’t let a person a live and transcend? You seep inside ones head and stop him from living a life. Your thinking is a defense mechanism, way of avoiding insight and not taking interest in the situation.

 

Negative- I don’t think I defend… when a person says he was lucky, the things could have been worse… he is positive right….???

 

Positive- Yep!

 

Negative- It’s a kind of gratitude that one can do without… believe me, it couldn’t have been any other way than the way it was…

 

Positive- You are exaggerating…!!

 

Negative- No way!! You have nothing else to say…

Positive – Ah! I am Positive and I don’t have the word ‘nothing’ in my dictionary… I don’t talk about Nothings okay…? Let me clarify… when I say it could have been worse, I am providing strength and I am trying to rekindle the lost strength. You don’t have to let me know, but think for yourself… do you have the ability to give life to dead energy… can you bring enthusiasm??
 

Negative- You and I are no one to instill energy and enthusiasm…

 

Positive- You have misconceptions about yourself and about me too… Please don’t have wrong concepts about me… when I lead I can create wonders and I can also bring life into a dead wood...

My phone was ringing and I had to take the call… my rainy day was over and I was required for work… unwillingly I got out of bed and dragged myself into the bathroom to brush my teeth… I opened my eyes to have a glimpse of myself on the mirror… I could see a sparkle in my eyes… what was it..? Well, I had unknowingly found answers to my questions.
