Part-1: The Powerful

There was a jungle kingdom. It was very prosperous. It contained all types of animals. The kingdom was so prosperous that it had attracted many animals from distant less prosperous jungles. And this had been the reason for many skirmishes between the animals of the forest. The most powerful animals were an Old tiger, a Cub, Lions, elephants and commoners like Deer and Rabbits.

The Cub was young, energetic and enthusiastic. So he roamed free on the great kingdom preying on whosoever he met. He had a great angst against the animals that he believed had immigrated to his kingdom and was always ready to pounce on them. He categorically hated the northern animals because for him the northerners were stinking creatures and made his kingdom filthy. But he had apparently some soft corner towards the southern animals or the easterners. (Needless to say the Cub’s kingdom was so prosperous that animals all over the world flocked there). One day one miracle happened and the Cub with his followers entered the King’s Den. (In this Kingdom though the Tiger clan was very powerful the kingship was still with the lions. A ‘right conservative’ lion group which we can call Lion-1 used to get the support of a faction of the tiger clan and the ‘Liberal’ lions which we can call as Lion-2 got the support of the Elephants clan.). The Cub then ransacked the King’s court and roared dangerously all over the kingdom there by announcing that “THE CUB HAS BECOME A REAL TIGER.”

On the other hand there was another faction of tiger led by an old, wise, enigmatic yet equally enthusiastic Old Tiger. Long back, the old tiger had fought with the immigrant animals in this kingdom and had created a niche position in the power house at the king’s court. In fact when the Lion-1 clan, once became very weak, the supporters of the Old Tiger actually ruled the kingdom for nearly one and half decades. So the nexus between the supporters of the Old Tiger and the Lion-1 was very deep and very friendly.

Then two other players in the jungle are the Lion-2 and the elephants; the less publicized folk but real power wielders for many years.

Recently there was a tumultuous between the two tiger factions. One faction (Cub) was very visibly upset with some Deer and Rabbits who could not roar in the Cub’s language. These Rabbits and Deer have done some service to the world but they are actually migrants from Northern forests and hence faced the wrath of the Cub’s clan. If the Cub could create such uproar how could the Old Tiger be silent? He was the master of the game the Cub was playing. So after being underground for some time he came to the foreground. This time his attack was not the southern immigrants rather the native Deer and Rabbits who have made their kingdom proud in some field or other.

So the jungle story had taken a wild turn of events. Tigers, old and new, fought all over the jungle and preyed on innocent Rabbits and Deer, outsiders or otherwise. But very strangely certain immigrant animals were spared; some were the inhabitants of a desert jungle and some were the native of a marshy jungle land. And certain other animals who resided in the capital of the Kingdom were from of some other world also. But these animals had some riches and prosperities so no tiger dared to attack them. These animals never roared in the Cub’s language neither they blindly supported the Old tiger’s whims but they were remained unscathed. Besides there were some other animals who did not come from North forests or South forests and were not harmed. Then there are certain other animals (immigrants of course) that got some training in new technologies to work for animals of distant worlds (not for the kingdom) and they were largely remained unscathed. But small time animals of north forests and certain very big shots were the real victims in the fight among the tiger clan.

Nice writeup...Jungle book is very interesting, even in civilized society there are times when chaos, pandemonium takes a front seat simply because we have lions and tigers who want to rule not live together...perfect analogy drawn....
