Of lately, the demand to legalize homosexuality is on the rise. Interestingly, our conventional India is also feeling the heat.

Homosexuality is not new to human race. Greek mythology is full of homosexuality. Even our upanishads and epics talk about  homosexuality. Islath, Christianity..almost all the religion on this earth talk about homosexuality.But that doesn’t give it any credibility.

What is homosexuality?

It's a sexual orientation. It is an individual's sexual preference. Is it some congenital disorder to take pity on? No.

Many scientists have tried to find out whether any biological influence gets to decide one's sexual orientation. So far, the result shows no such biological influences. In short, Scientists say that no specific biological etiology for homosexuality to date.

This happens mostly because of psychological stress, emotional abuse and physical abuse in one's childhood, confined existence with the same gender for a long period and the unwanted, undesirable acquaintances.The key factors are paternal attachment, introversion and neurotic characteristics.

It’s mostly a psychological one..a mental perversion.

So..do we agree that this kind of sexual orientation is an abnormal one? Anything not normal is abnormal. In sex, anything not normal is categorized as perversion.

So..what some people are demanding is to legalize certain  acts of mental perversions!

Some may feel that everyone to their own. Life is short and everyone have their own right to happiness. I agree.

But we are talking about sex here. The most influential thing on humans both emotionally as well as physically. The most sensitive issue. It's not like some vices or bad habits or even about polygamy. Society make allowances and turns a blind eye on certain vices.

But abnormal sexual orientations, sexual perversions are different.

There are many more on the list like.. incest, bestiality , pedophile and some more. Human race is not new to all such things. But, as long as these perverted acts are conducted behind closed doors, it's ok with the rest.

All religions talk about this. All literature talk about this. Every country has homosexuals. But the issue here is not a moral one. it's the legal one. Legalization will lead to more societal and legal complications than mere sexual acts.

1. If we are to legalize homosexuality, what’s next?..Legalizing incestuous relationships?? bestiality?? If we legalize one mental perversion, there will be demands pouring in to legalize incest, bestiality and so on. Do we need that???

2. Homosexuality is the main carrier of AIDS even though safe sex rules are applied.

3. It’s highly dangerous because it encourages pederasty.

4. Legalization will enable such gay and lesbian couples to get legally married status.
What if they want to adopt a baby? What kind of parents these people will make?. Parenting is not a child’s play. It’s a tough job, a risky responsibility, which should be handled with utmost care. With lesbian parents, the child will lack a father’s influence, his guidance which is very, very important especially if it’s a boy child. With Gay parents, the child will lack a mother’s self-less caring, nurturing ways which is very, very important especially if it’s a girl child. Let's not forget the kind of sexual influence the child gets..living in such atmosphere ! I would like to recall Greek philosopher Epicurus' words.."Man is disturbed not by things..but by the views he takes of them" !

5. Just because, a poor innocent child is orphan ,is it fair to dump that baby on a homosexual parents?.

Then what’s the difference between stoning a stray dog on the streets and this act?

6. Man is a social animal. community living demands certain discipline in order to maintain peace. civilization is discipline. Why incestuous relationships are shunned? because they break the familial set up. Why bestiality is shunned? because it creates many health issues. Why pedophile is shunned? because it corrupts young mind and hurts young body. Though consensual, all the above sexual orientations are banned by the society. Here the happiness quotient takes a back seat. In the same way, gay and lesbianism also affects the society's civilized setup.

7. Procreation will get a severe beating. Already the number of homosexuals is increasing in leaps and bounds. Whenever life throws a problem, looking for an easy way out is human nature. The emotional stress one has to endure in a relationship with opposite sex makes one opt for homosexuality. Due to the enormous exposure through internet and media, curiosity got the better of many and resulting in liking it.

Talking equal rights is a fine thing. But we all know what happened to the western society which is the front runner in saving human rights and equality ! Quoting religions for support is not fair. Religions are made by humans for humans.They are made to discipline human minds. Religious humanism can help in removing such mental perversions from human minds. But because of some self proclaimed intellectuals, and their repeated mindless questioning of religious beliefs,Religion is being made to look like an idiotic pursuit.

Well, yes, certainly it's abnormal. So are handicaps, such as blindness and deafness. Even more serious ones, schizophrenia, Down's syndrome, and so on and so forth. Does that mean they're immoral?
Schizophrenics have been known to rape and murder people because they honestly believe they're doing the right thing. Shouldn't we label THEM criminals first, instead of labelling what consenting adults do with each other as being a crime? What's more, just because it's a deviant, should we condemn homosexual love? Let's not forget, these are adults in full posession of their wits we're talking about.
NOBODY here or anywhere else in this country or in others, is even referring to kids here when they talk about homosexuality- they are talking of consenting adults and their birthright of living with dignity, of chosing their own preferences; subject to it not hurting anyone else physically or psychologically. What they do in their bedrooms, shouldn't affect others. We have no business being offended by it.
Rape and paedophilia are respectively wrong because one is done without the victim's permission and the other because it's done to an innocent child. The gender of the victim and the perpetrator are irrelevant here.
Or are you implying that homosexual rape/paedophilia is some how MORE wrong than their heterosexual counterparts?
They aren't.
What's the difference between stoning a stray dog and giving a child up for adoption, with the eventual possibility that he/she may be adopted by gay parents?
Several.
The first one being, it's the difference between giving a child a fair chance of a normal, loving life- as opposed to either a life of poverty, neglect, or perhaps, getting eaten by the same stray dogs you so cleverly used as an example.
Is parenting a big responsibility? Yes, the biggest one there is. What makes you think that a gay parent isn't likely to be responsible?
Homosexuality is a preference, not a psychological category in and of itself.
I like the colour red. I hear that red usually incites feelings of violence. Does that make me a psychopath? Well, the last time I checked, no.
That's because my favourite colour is a PREFERENCE, and the person I am isn't generally decided by my preferences.
Homosexuals are people first, with complex beliefs and characters and talents. Who they choose to have sex with-if the other person is a consenting adult- does not define them. Just like my favourite colour doesn't define me.
I'm not saying that homosexuals will make better parents, or whatever, but it's like every other set of parents. Every heterosexual couple isn't genetically guranteed to be good parents either.
That said, legalising adoption by homosexuals probably isn't a good idea right now, That's because of what the child will have to face OUTSIDE the home. And that's not the fault of homosexual parents, that'll be solely the fault of homophobic people.
Procreation taking a beating? You do know, don't you, that there are around 7 billion people on this planet right now? That an ever increasing population is supposed to be one of our biggest problems?
And you want MORE procreation? Well, all I'll say is: good luck with those Mars-Colonization plans. I have a feeling they'll come in handy.
