“Last night a video tape mailed to our head office playing a message from Osama bin Laden confirmed that he’s still alive and active...it included Osama in an AK-47 background claiming that England’s performance was frustrating and appalling last night ....although the tape seems fresh and recent...but British Intelligence has dismissed the claim, stating that the message could have been recorded anytime in last 44 years..!!”
This is one of the thousand bullets that was fired against England by the British media after being thrashed by Germany last Sunday, but it was Frank Lampard’s disallowed goal which dominated the news channels (instead of devastating German counter attack) renouncing the age old soccer Vs Technology battle which has become the central feature of pub discussions and television sensation.

The existence of God, or Divinity; has been affirmed, denied, debated over and indoctrinated for almost as long as civilization itself. Although the finer details have undergone manifold changes over the millennia, the basic essentials remain the same:
“There exists a human-like force or being, which/who created this entire Universe, governs it, and if need so arises, can change it.”

Rohan sat on the patio of his parental cottage in rural Kerala watching the rain beat down on the brownish sand. Thin strands of the water hit him mildly adding to the solemn comfort while the steaming cup of coffee that he held with both hands helped regulate his body temperature.
The house was bounded by thick vegetation composed of coconut, betel nut, banana and jackfruit trees and they waved in unison following the dictates of the strong breeze which is traditionally the rain’s constant companion in this part of the world.

One of the leading issues today is juvenile smoking. According to a heath based website, nearly 90% of adult smokers start while they are still teens. They may start with a cigarette or two from a acquaintance at a social gathering, and then go on to buying an irregular pack. After some days they realize that they can't go without that pack. They want to use a cigarette in the morning, after meals, or during any stressful time. And finally they become addicted, both physically and sensitively. According to the American Lung Association, each day 6,000 children under the age of 18 smoke their first cigarette. Almost 2,000 of them will become regular smokers – that's 757, 000 new smokers annually!

I'm not and never have been a hardcore feminist. But recent happenings made me think about being a woman in india the duties expected out of her in the name of love, respect, honour. Our history reveals that our society was a more liberated one in olden days but still retained it's good values. Only after Mogul and english invasions, maybe out of fear and need to safeguard their womenfolk from the invaders, our men started setting some rigid rules for women. Maybe it served it's purpose at that time.
