Buckle Up Your Seat Belts & Have a Blast

Movie – Death Race

Director - Paul W. S. Anderson

Starcast - Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Tyrese Gibson, Natalie Martinez and Others.

Death Race turns out to be an absolute mayhem as far as the word action is concerned. It is a remake of 1975 film Death Race 2000, starring Jason Statham in the lead role. The movie is all about high octane race car drivers racing with the license to kill. The story is almost similar with that of The Condemned starring Steve Austin, the only difference is this time the slaughtering takes place in the race track......

At 2012, with the downfall of US economy unemployment and crime rates touches sky high and private corporations run most of the prisons across the nation for profits. Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) is framed for his wife's murder and is send to the Terminal Island Prison, which broadcasts Death Race to the world via a popular pay site on the Internet. Hennessey (Joan Allen) the chief of the prison compels Ames to take part in the race at the cost of his freedom. Ames replaces Frank who died in the earlier race to keep the legend of Frankenstein alive. In the first stage of the race Ames is supported by his navigator Elizabeth Case (Natalie Martinez), who happens to be Frankenstein's previous navigator. Later on Ames learns about the race that it was solely for the personal profit of Hennessey.

When Ames confronts Hennessey refusing to take part in future stages he is blackmailed by Hennessey to continue racing at the cost of his daughter’s future. Ames continues racing in subsequent stages. Finally with the help of his opponent Machine Gun Joe (Tyrese Gibson), Ames manages to escape the prison with the simultaneous revenge from Hennessey for murdering his wife.

Jason Statham successfully maintains his serious action hungry image with nothing exceptions in comparison to his Transporter movies. Natalie Martinez looks damn hot. There is nothing in the name of plot but one thing that excels the most and works in its favor is the high octane action sequences. Death Race is brainless, hyper violent and is a powerhouse of adrenaline filled action.

Strongly recommended for action lovers, miss it and you will definitely regret. So fasten your seat belts and get ready to have a blast.
