Movie – The Bridges of Madison County
Director - Clint Eastwood
Star cast - Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep, Annie Corley and Others.
Awards - Nominated for Oscar. Another 6 wins & 6 nominations more I never thought of the day I started writing, there would come one day when I end up describing the historic love story of Robert Kincaid and Francesca Johnson. What happens when two cinematic legends come together, born is an eternal tale of love and emotions, The Bridges of Madison County. Based on the best selling novel by Robert James Waller, Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep come together to gift one of the most heart touching and timeless romantic story ever told. The Bridges of Madison County has an endless spree of sensational emotional moments that every single person in love can relate with. The honest and noble chemistry between Eastwood and Meryl turns the middle aged romantic drama into an experience that comes once in a lifetime. It’s an experience that inspires, an experience that makes you cry, and an epic love story that touches every corner of the soul. Mark my words this is unlike any heartwarming romantic experience you ever had, every dry eye turns moist with such classic moments... The plot is set in the summer of 1965 which tells the story of Francesca Johnson (Meryl Streep), a lonely housewife living with her family in Iowa, USA. While her husband and children are away at the Illinois State Fair, Robert Kincaid (Clint Eastwood) a photographer lands in the Johnson farm and asks Francesca for directions to Rosamunde Bridge. He is on an assignment from National Geographic magazine to photograph the bridges of Madison County. She agrees to take him to the bridges and thus begins the bittersweet and incredible romance of her life. Francesca pens down the story of this four-day love affair in a diary which is found by her children among her possessions and alongside Robert Kincaid's possessions after Francesca is dead. In the dairy Francesca requested her children for the disposition for her ashes in the Rosamunde Bridge, the bridge where cremated remains of Robert Kincaid was earlier scattered. Finally they fulfill their mother’s request as her story brings back the much needed happiness in their taken for granted lives. Clint Eastwood has countless masterpieces under his belt both as an actor and a director but if one sits down to watch the best he has ever delivered is in The Bridges of Madison County. Robert Kincaid wouldn’t have been himself if it was not for this legendary actor, the lonely and gentle character portrayed by the dynamic and extraordinarily natural Clint Eastwood. As a director Eastwood excels in every department, he brings out one of the best on screen adaptation in this one. It’s hard to believe how one man is such straight and genius in presenting almost every genre of movies from thrillers to drama in his apocalyptic cinematic journey, Clint Eastwood a name that defines the word acting and directing in an intensifying frame of simplicity, sincerity and versatility. The photographer Robert Kincaid is a gem of a character that cannot be passed by. Meryl Streep, the name says it all. The mysterious and confused character of Francesca portrayed by the ever dazzling and wonderful, Meryl Streep with unimaginative perfection. She simply wins your heart at the end of the day, her accent, her stealing looks, her hunger for love its every single thing that a woman wishes and desires to feel in. Meryl makes the character Francesca so realistic that it’s like a standing mirror for every married woman in this world, suppressing her emotions within and playing mind games with a stranger, an ecstatic depiction of a woman so unsatisfied with her ongoing relationship. Two times Oscar Winner Meryl Streep deserved much more than her share of nomination for Best Actress in Oscars 1995. The rain scene is an all time classic moment that drags tears down the eyes and watching the two legends together in that one is like a treat full of soul. The music is soothing and relishing as it is in every Clint Eastwood movies. Adding to the marvelous acting skills of the two class actors is the hardcore sentimental and clinching dialogs that you would have ever heard of. Like some of the real classics by the two characters are: Robert Kincaid: I don’t want to need you, cause I can't have you. Robert Kincaid: Don't kid yourself, Francesca: you are anything but a simple woman. Robert Kincaid: Things change. They always do, it's one of the things of nature. Most people are afraid of change, but if you look at it as something you can always count on, then it can be a comfort. Francesca: They came home. And with them, my life of details. Francesca: I realized love won't obey our expectations; its mystery is pure and absolute. But the best of the best is the one said Robert Kincaid, "The old dreams were good dreams; they didn't work out, but glad I had them." Witness two great actors pouring life into one of the most dramatic and emotionally engaging romantic story. The passionate and secret love both the central characters share for each other makes it the best inseparable on-screen couples ever seen in cinematic history. Watch it if you want to cry, watch it if you are a victim of loneliness and sadness. Sometimes brief events occur in all our lives that flash those moments we lived for in a second and make those sparks come alive in a rare blink; The Bridges of Madison County ignites those sparks ecstatically. This is not just a movie it’s a touch, rare to feel. The Bridges of Madison County Trailer:
