Movie - Tanu Weds Manu
Actors - Madhavan, Kangana, Deepak Dobriyal & Others
Director - Anand Rai
Director Aanand Rai’s directorial debut, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ has been declared a hit. So shocked was I after reading this piece of information that I decided to write down why I think the only reason this film is doing well is because apparently these days, this film is the only respite from cricket.

Movie - Guzaarish
Actors - Hrithik Roshan, Ashwarya Rai & Others
Director - Sanjay Leela Bhansali
I will begin with a disclaimer- those who haven’t watched this movie should beware of spoilers! This article is more of a critique than a review.
Of all the movies I have reviewed so far, I find Guzaarish the most difficult to comment on. Because I cant make up my mind about this film. In my experience, if you don’t know whether you like a film or not, it is difficult to critique it. A bit of a paradox since objectivity is sort of key in this entire endeavor. But its true nevertheless.

Movie - Break Ke Baad
Actors - Imran Khan, Deepika Padukone & Others
Director - Danish Aslam
Dear Mr. Aslam, Great effort! I loved your movie. I really did. Until we reached the climax, at which point I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Why did u have to ruin a perfectly relatable story with an outrageously unrealistic end, is beyond me. I understand your urge to cater to the sticklers that we are for happy fairy tale endings. But this was just way too ridiculous!

The first thought that struck me as I walked out of the movie hall after having watched ‘We are family’, was, ‘Who, in the name of everything holy, is Siddharth Malhotra?’ And why did Karan Johar entrust a debutante director, having no commendable previous work to speak of ( I actually did a google search on this guy), with a script that needs unbelievable amounts of maturity to be done justice to?

Puneet Malhotra’s debut directorial venture, ‘I hate Luv Storys’ is a spoof of all the Chopra/ Johar romantic comedies we have seen over the years, with occasional references to Dil Chahta Hai and a couple of Bhansali movies. And it does go all the way. From exotic swiss locales to the insanely repetitive airport chase sequences, the makers have spoofed everything. And that’s fun to watch, especially if you have seen the originals! There are some genuinely funny scenes and dialogues, and some of Imran’s expressions are priceless!
