Book - The Unaccustomed Earth

Author - Jhumpa Lahiri

Another remarkable piece of work comes from this Pulitzer winning Indian gem.Jhumpa Lahiri, is one of most popular Indian born authors who has shone at the international Literature forums. She made a mark for herself with her first collection of short stories, Interpreter of Maladies, which explored more on an autobiographical line, the lives of NRIs clinging to the Bengali culture of Tagore and Ray,desperate to pass it off as a legacy to their foreign bred children. The USP of Lahiri lies in the simplicity of her language and the lucid flow of her words. The stories are warm and sensitive, and some of them touch the deepest chords in your hearts.

Book - The Zoya Factor

Author - Anuja Chauhan

India is indeed a cricket crazy nation. We are more a land of Tendulkars and Dhonis than of anything else for sure.Cricket seems to be one of the most common themes for the creative fields of Literature and film making.Ah! First it was our very own IIT dude who wrote a good read on cricket in his third venture-The Three Mistakes of my life. And now it is our very own Anuja Chauhan.I know readers this is her debut novel , but we have often in our bad TV viewing days have enjoyed those cliched lines from the ads she created. Most famous one being SRK's Oye Bubbly Pepsi Venture.Anuja Chauhan has been the mastermind behind many creative fabulous ads of Pepsi and Lays and this is her first attempt at debunking the 30 second slot length at creative writing.

Our Earth is Lord’s wonderful domain
Bound by one long, intricate food chain.
Man is the leading engine with a clever brain,
Animals trail behind as bogeys of Nature’s train.

A dark shadow, a void.

I am the dearth of lack

I am the colour black
