As I rush to the sleepy sun
And wait in the taxi stand
I leave behind my home undone
And some rusty thoughts unplanned

The sun dazzles in taxi’s glass
Like a prank played by my friend
As it comes with its smoky gas
With my hand I wave and wend.

When I am safe inside the car
Away from the waking sun
The smoke of dreadful like cigar -
Is a guest that bothers none.

Trees on foot-paths to me does stare
As they count my office track
I find them less by one number
Each day while returning back

People who stroll along the street
In the now half scorching sun
I find them increase and compete
With each other, one by one

At last I hear office come near
And the driver parks his ‘car’
Splash of dirty mud greet it’s tyre
And some on those who aren’t far

I reach the gate and look back
Shying from the blazing sun
Try to ignore my skin get black
Each day though I try to shun.
