Love is the Strangest ThingPDFPrintE-mail

Love is the strangest thing: both richer and poorer than its sibling, hate.

So selfishly selfless

With its need to give: and unsaid expectation to get.

So hopelessly hypocritical

With its false promises of tolerance and understanding.

As warm as a cosy fire

(But hotter than the wrath of Zeus)

As cool as the Moon’s radiance

(But colder than the Arctic ice)

Forged to last at least till death

(Crushed underfoot at first opportunity)

Love is the strangest thing-

So much better to guiltlessly hate;

Or perhaps not feel at all.

Love is the strangest thing-

For in spite of all:

Love is something you can’t bring yourself to hate.

LOL ... but this is one very important thing in love - that one can't hate! Nice poem ... and well crafted.
