This is few of the statistics about the God of Cricket and perhaps the most complete batsman that the the modern era of cricket will ever see. Yes I am talking about the batting genius “The Little Master, SACHIN TENDULKAR”.

When Sachin Tendulkar travelled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam. When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger  Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters. The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to "open" the Nehruvian economy. It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had another Sachin Tendulkar and never will."

In a cricket crazy nation of more than one billion population, he has shouldered the burden and expectations unfailingly of his uncountable fans for the past two decades. A banner in Hyderabad after his unforgettable cameo of 175 against the Aussies reads “Commit all your crimes when Tendulkar is batting, they will go unnoticed because even God is watching him play”.

He can virtually stop time in India while batting. People of all ages watch him as an icon and quote him as the God of Cricket. To sum up I can say, “If Cricket is a religion than Sachin is the God”.

The only person in this planet to have scored a Double Ton in ODIs. The record was long held by Saeed Anwar who scored 194 in 1997 and the little known Charles Coventry 194 in August 2009. To bat the full quota of 50 overs, and to achieve the feat of four of out of his five 150 plus scores in the past 12 months says about his present form in the game. When most  bask the sunshine of retirement by this age, the little master is still in his prime form. He has the same charm and hunger of a twenty years old in this twilight phase of his carrer and gets younger with time. He has left behind every records to his name and has enough bed time stories (which would probably fill a library) for grand parents to tell their grand children.

He dedicated the double ton to the People of India who has been with his side in the past two decades during his ups and downs. After his countless achievements, he still stands as figure of modesty, humbleness and more hungry to score runs for India. He mentioned, “Hope this record stays in India for time to come and my fellow mate (Nawab of Najafgarh) topples it some day."

The world is waiting to see his ton of centuries by the time he retires. This can be the greatest gift he can give to the billion people of this Cricket Crazy Nation before he rests.

Yes he is everything you mentioned but at times I feel he acts a little selfish and plays for his individual records but this is again my personal opinion.

Yes I agree Sachin is great....But its too much yaar.. i feel its really unfaire for the people who has done many great things for our country and they are continouse..but they are not so much highlighted.

every individual at some point or other is a touch selfish.the very fact being we have venerated him to such a level that we wish he could do no wrong.However sacin is as human as we are though he seemingly has conquered many vices which still have a grip over ordinary mortals and even many of the extraordinary cricketers of his era.
