The unprecedented growth of the Indian industry in a year that spelt disaster for many corporate giants of the globe lent credence to the vision of international economists. In the midst of a dim and forlorn global scenario India has emerged a forerunner in terms of industrial growth. India is perceived to be the manufacturing hub and an efficient back office to the US and industries of Europe. Needles to say that it continues to be a leading provider of IT solutions world over notwithstanding Satyam. Apparently Indians would find huge lucrative job opportunities coming their way in the days to come. Diminished supply of manpower will boost compensation and sooner than ever the Indian youth will be carrying a burgeoning wallet home every month. When his / her material comforts are adequately met the need to enhance his / her knowledge base withers away. As the youth bask in the glory of their newly found wealth seeking higher studies will not figure in their list of priorities particularly after a rigorous regimen at their workplace. Many among them may be working through the night and studying, as a moonlitting activity will find very few takers. “Burning midnight oil” is an anachronism as urban India does not sleep!! An agent in a BPO or a workman in the shop floor is socially alienated as he works through the night and sleeps through the day. His / her rejuvenation comes in the form of their weekend visits to the pub with colleagues when they revel until the wee hours of the dawn, returning home only with the milkman in a drunken stupor. An economist’s delight could well turn out to be a social nightmare!! Employment generated lately is hardly gender specific and the women of contemporary times are more inclined to take up assignments in positions of power and responsibility. The female incomes are not merely to augment the cash inflow into the household but now have an identity and standing when compared to their male counterpart. The disparity in the incomes has considerably narrowed down and is now threatening to tilt the balance in her favor!! Greater profitability stems from accountability that percolates down the rank and file. When office gains precedence over home, domestic bliss takes the beating. Conversations are in monosyllables which fuels greater discord. The age old institution of marriage loses its sanctity as the rate of severance of marital bonds become too frequent for comfort.
Good economics may not necessarily translate to better chemistry!! The even spread of corporate set up across the length and width of the nation calls for greater mobility among the employees. While the manufacturing is usually put up at rural areas identified as tax havens by the government, the administrative machinery is housed in the metros. Long absence from home and the family brings about a disconnect, detrimental to the buildup of an ideal environment for the growing impressionable minds and also for the elderly who yearns for support and companionship. The social fallout in a high growth environment is not without precedent. The highly developed countries have all paid the price of material prosperity at the altar of domestic dissonance. Indians are a bunch of intelligent, resourceful and enterprising lot and is worthy of the elevated status that visionaries anticipate. Nevertheless tradition, customs and our values need to be deeply ingrained in the generations to come. Relationship and our age old institutions of family and marriage needs to be sacrosanct and impervious. Good commerce is when you live and love with greater ease!!

Excellent write up! Every reader can relate with this post in one way or the other.
"Good commerce is when you live and love with greater ease" I agree wholeheartedly with this above statement. But our economic prosperity made our life stressful. No one has time to live and love is the sad truth!

A reliable read, I must admit. The greater needs of commerce and economics has made Indians lower in their social esteem. Material comfort has gained precedence over socio-psychological factors. Pity that we are continuing to move in that direction only ... if there was a force to stem the tide.

Louis Vuitton is a name never to underestimate. Its creations are among the wholesale designer Louis Vuitton to shop for. Among the designs that you may love are the Louis Vuitton Outlet Stresa PM bag in Damier canvas, LV Alma Tote in epi leather, LV Elegie Purse, and LV Tote.

Its just me, my work (say wealth) & my status.
It wouldn't be late when we have to live by these hard facts.
