What is information warfare?

Wikipedia defines information warfare as “the use and management of information in pursuit of a competitive advantage over an opponent”. This is achieved through propaganda, denial of information and a kind of psychological warfare. According to Dr Carlo Kopp, there are four strategies of information warfare. They are:

“To capture the enemy's entire army is better than to destroy it; to take intact a regiment, a company, or a squad is better than to destroy them. For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the supreme excellence. Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy. Next best is to disrupt his alliances by diplomacy. The next best is to attack his army. And the worst policy is to attack cities”--- Sun Tzu

Somedays before I finished the serial CHANAKYA (Telecasted on DoorDarshan in 1991-92) directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Once I began the series I could not stop myself watching it and finished the 34 hr (approximately) series in 3 days. I felt something inside me, a complete change. Who is worthy of credit, is it the director or the historical image CHANAKYA. Because, earlier the visual representation of history has always been manipulated. So, wary of the contents shown in the serial, I started my own research about Chanakya. I came to know that the director has done a 9 year research to make complete series. He himself was a medical professional who gave up his medicine career after practising for 2 months due to his interest in Indian literature. Everything shown in the series is result of some some research. A small example i want to present, people in the India were not using saddle on horse's back before Alexander invasion and this clearly applies to the Chanakya series. I could not start writing about  Chanakya before giving my salutation to the director Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi.

Indian Nation congress (INC) in its initial high profile character was never able to reach the masses. It prior to Gandhiji was an organisation mainly working for the interests of the capitalists. INC relied mostly on constitution reforms. It was supported by most industrialists as it was basically working for their ends. But this approach itself had many demerits accompanying it. Common man who was busy in fulfilling his subsistence needs was far from empathizing with such high-sounding measures.
