Those old shops are gone,
Those tiny dirty lanes
where mud played with our toes,
trying to adjust into our shoes,
are lost in to wide roads,
where feet do not kiss the grounds any more
and the moon no longer appears
in water cuddled up in small cavities.

Book - The Girl Most Likely To

Author - Susan Donovan

Susan Donovan is Disappointing.

After a series of serious books, I decided to take a break, and read something light... where I wouldn't have to use my brain, but which would be funny nevertheless... So, I picked up Susan Donovan's '...' , I read it, and I swore never to pick up another Susan Donovan ever!

Lets Illuminate Our Future!!PDFPrintE-mail

We've embarked on the beginning of the last days of the age of oil. Embrace the future and recognize the growing demand for a wide range of fuels or ignore reality and slowly—but surely—be left behind. A chill ran down my spine as I explored the implications of this statement, by Mike Bowlin, chairman and CEO of ARC, on human race. ‘This day isn’t gonna come so soon man!’ I calmed myself so that I can grab myself a shut-eye before I could ‘embark’ on another day in office.

A One Liner TestimonyPDFPrintE-mail

It’s a generation of condensation. Packed foods, smaller clothes, speed dating and Tweeting is the norm of the day. Hence, a one-liner grabs eyeballs much more than a whole paragraph. The ensuing one liners are some of my favourites and they are all original-

·               I miss my mind. Has anyone seen it?

·               Clothe Megan Fox, the ice caps will freeze again.

·               Get high on Chocolate. Not cocaine, you idiot!

The release of Aisha seems to have set off a round of indignant “ewwws” from the male population of society. A very expected precedent to the also recently released vamp flick, Eclipse. Shouldn’t they be happy but? It’s like a complete visual rulebook as to what most girls (read, prospective girlfriends) expect from them. The ones who desist and resist are 98% bluffing, not just to the guys but to themselves too. The remaining 2% are simply not female. Getting back to the boys, how much more of a neon light indication does one need? Du’uh. Okay, some smart ones are out there taking notes. But sadly, that’s an extreme minority.

Juste Une Question D'Amour - Movie ReviewPDFPrintE-mail

“It’s not about being gay or straight. It’s just a question of love”

Movie - Juste Une Question D'Amour (Just a Question of Love)
Director - Christian Faure
Cast - Cyrille Thouvenin, Stephan, Eva Darlan & Others

In all technicality, this movie is supposed to fall under the colorful ‘Gay Themed’ category- but I simply can’t bring myself to do it. Attaching such a stereotypical label to a film such as this one would indeed be a shame.

Directed by Christian Faure, Juste Une Question D’Amour originally aired on France’s France 2 Network in the prime time slot. In the following two weeks, the lead actors, Cyrille and Stéphan received at least 2000 letters of praise each from viewers- and after watching this film, I see why.

As usual the hunter left for the jungle that afternoon. He set out the net and waited for the sun to set.

It was a lucky day for him. He returned with a parrot nest.

The hunter thought to himself. “I will train these birds; they will be the most beautiful voice this village has ever heard. I will sell them at good amount.”

"Facebook reaches 500 million users".....

Well, no doubt that social networking sites, twitters etc are turning into, wht William H. Dutton - a sociologist in Oxford says, "5th Estate".Its a revolution in Information dissemination.500 mn is a huge number which can do wonders.Groups like "Hate Isreal", " we are with gaza" etc. have followings in lakhs-providing opportunity to show resentment by a single click.Best part is that they wont be shot down by commandos for that!! I am loving it...

I was reading about National Income which is nothing but the sum total of value added in all the enterprises of a country. By 'value added' i mean the money value all the final goods and services produced in a country during a period of one year.

Following factors are not included in calculating National Income:

1.Leisure activities such as hobbies
2.Illegal income or gift taxes
3.Sale of second machines
4.Transfer payments on unproductive activities
and last but not the least.. Self Consumption services such as "HOUSEWIVES".
Well, instead of memorising all of them, only last one would do.
Because.....

THE JUGGERNAUT OF VIOLENCE

The beautiful valley of Kashmir has not been free of terror for decades now. The tragedy is in the apparent helplessness of the Central Government in meeting with the crisis. The death toll and the casualties simply keep rising, like the swell of a tsunami, sparing not even the children. Truly a pity that even the innocent are not spared. Disruption is the order of the day. Again, the complete irresponsibility of the Central government is brought into the foray, for not meeting with the needs of the people. But then again, the Capitol is busy meeting up with the "pressing" demands of the Commonwealth Games to look into other matters. If half the administration is looking into unnecessary items, the rest is trying to wriggle out of scandals of some sort or the other, political, sexual, social. And then buying their fifteen minutes of fame on national television, which channels are waiting to pounce on like jackals.
