The increasing pressure on the school teachers to abjugate all forms of corporal punishment.
Is it a healthy trend for future?

'Spare the rod and spoil the child' is a very truthful proverb. But..but the extreme misuse of corporal punishment by a very few maniacal teachers makes us want to spare a small percentage of affected children at the cost of indulging the majority of students with patient foebearance!!!

I'm sort of on the fence with this one. There are some things that simply CANNOT be taught with patient explanations. Corporal punishment should be used as a last resort by parents/teachers; and obviously, it can't be horrific enough to permanently damage the child.
There's a rather thin line, I'm afraid. Completely spare the rod, and you DO spoil the child. Use corporal punishment regularly, however, and you either teach the child that solving things with violence is acceptable OR traumatise him/her. The former outcome being scarier, in my opinion.

To add to what I said, I think that corporal punishment SHOULD be banned in school.
The reason why I say this is simple: teachers will probably not use corporal punishment as a last resort- like it or not, at the end of the day, it won't be THEIR child they'll be hitting, will it?
For a majority of teachers, corporal punishment will simply be a quick way of disciplining the students. They won't bother to use the less harsh methods forst.

Its true.........
Spare the rod and spoil the child.
Its really impossible to control the errant children without a stick.
But its traumatic experience for some child and they go extreme being unaware about the consequences.
