Free Society or Restricted Society? 2 Years ago Karma: -1
Lets discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both Free society (U.S.) and Restricted Society (China, Taliban, Islam countries).

I am not sure in which category India will be categorized. I guess its mixture of both with more of Free culture.

Which can be more beneficial for evolution of our humans.

Both are extreme states and hence not advantageous!

A wild horse has to be tamed, saddled and kept under reins to be useful to its rider. A free society forgets/neglects this to dire consequences of licence and deterioration and decline in productivity/achievement.

Undue repression too is harmful and is bound to have adverse effects. Unnatural and unfair. A stance taken out of over cautiousness and unwanted/untrusting fear about degration of moral standards.

A golden mean with awareness and enlightenment will be ideal!

Yes a mixture of both is best combination but most of the countries are tending towards more free society.

A free society will slowly breed freewill inside a mind, which may be beneficial for the own individual development and for the prosperity of the society. It can give rise to entrepreneurs creating wealth and jobs for the nation. It can give rise to artist, sportsmen etc.

While India is legally a free society but our social roots, cultures and values tend to dampen this freedom given by the constitution or judiciary. Though curtailment of freedom through attachment to our social roots are beneficial in some cases but are detrimental in other cases too.

What you consider as 'dampening' the freedom are actually precious virtues we have inherited and cannot afford to lose/let go!!! 'Prosperity' must not be measured in material comfort but spiritual wellbeing too!

I agree with u that free society develops and nourishes creativity where as restricted society definitely curtails the much needed evolution...thus making humans just a carbon copy of bygone eras! Combination of these both is good..provided the free society is a bit more favored.

There is nothing like a free society. There is always some degree of restriction. A lot depends on the enforcement process which actually determines the health of the society. It requires a well knit & cohesive institution called the family to ensure that good values are imbibed through the generations in a manner which does not dampen creativity by creating mindsets. I will not associate any of the names to such a milieu.
